Project PC2E - No More Releases

For anyone who never heard of this PC2E emulator, and for those who have....this is a good/bad news update on the cool little emulator;

PC Engine Emulator Closed Note

[2005.10.13]

The executable and the source code is no more open to the public, because there is a webpage uploading commercial PC Engine games along with the link to my page.

THE PROJECT PC2E EXECUTABLE IS ONLY FOR USE WITH GAMES DUMPED BY YOURSELF!!!

I have shown the warning messages three times: before downloading, in the ReadMe.txt, and when the program is invoked. Despite of this, the webpage explicitly ignored my warning messages and handled the PROJECT PC2E in the absolutely unacceptable way. As to be in position of the author, I have to stop releasing PROJECT PC2E.

The webpage like that really makes me feel I shouldn't have released this software to the public. I'm quite disappointed.

I stated the "terms of use" thing on my emulator because of the legal background in my country. The recent case of "Winny" showed that a software which can encourage people to break the copyright law could also be considered illegal (very funny though).

So now that I've actually seen people uploading commercial PC Engine ROMs and providing a link to my page, saying "These games will work properly with an emulator such as PC2E," I had no choice other than to stop releasing my emulator.

Maybe I didn't have to stop, but it really got on my nerve because they should have read my "terms of use" message since they used my emulator at least once to check if their games work on my emulator. They also showed in a public place that they didn't care how PROJECT PC2E is intended to be used.

I personally think that the copyright laws are really outmoded scrap, but that doesn't make me think that we can ignore the rule.
