Mysterious Song Update - Frozen Utopia

The upcoming fantasy/RPG from Frozen Utopia "Mysterious Song" has been delayed, pending an artwork makeover. Here is a quick example of the new work being done by Black Tiger:

I don't think anyone minds the delay when you see that something like this will be part of the re-working.

Super Air Zonk released today for the Wii Virtual Console. Not a very good game, and is very weak when compared to the original Air Zonk. But the CD music is marginally decent!

German-Speaking Nerds Arrested for PC Engine [Update]

Last month brought an endless flow of game pumpkins and the PC Engine's 20th anniversary. On October 30 twenty years ago, the PC Engine first went on sale in Japan. Three German speakers posted fliers and a birthday message on a Mandarake temporary construction barricade in Akihabara. The sign wished the ill-fated console a happy birthday, thanked NEC and Hudson and listed fan site PCE Daisakusen. The police appeared, asking if he worked for that company. One replied, "No, I'm a big PC Engine fan." The three were put in the patrol car and driven away from the scene. Hardcore. So let that be a lesson: Japan isn't your personal fanboy billboard! Just be happy with wearing gaming t-shirts!!

Eds Note: According to reader Marc: "At least the guy on the picture pointing to the poster is Swiss.
The mentioned site PCEDaisakusen was also initiated by Swiss people. Probably the German banner on PCEDaisakusen is confusing because we also speak German in Switzerland (one of the official languages):
Please give the right nerd nation credit and change the title, thanks.

Pretty neat story. Amazing stuff going on in the NEC community, and world. = )

MagicEngine and MagicEngineFX Mac ports updated

Most people have been waiting a LONG time for this! Check this out from their news page;

2007-11-10

Some news of MagicEngine and MagicEngineFX!

We are preparing two releases for this month, a small update of the Mac version of MagicEngine to fix a few problems and add a new fullscreen resolution, and an update of MagicEngineFX with some emulation bug fixes and a few improvements, also in work is a big update of MagicEngine. The target for this version is to fix the last few emulation bugs, improve MagicSystem, and bring the improvements of the Mac version to the PC version. It's too early to know when this version will be ready but a lot of work has already be done, a release before the middle of next year seems possible.

Praise the lord and the gaming gods! I LOVE this emu to death!

Power Golf out for Wii Virtual Console

Power Golf is a great golf game. I don't know if downloading it is justified next to all the other golf games for the Wii, especially considering the Wii comes with a far more advanced golf game. Never the less, it's out :)

This is definitely one of the better console golf games. Everything feels like it was made with the intent of creating a good game, rather than just trying to create a game. Graphics, sound, and playability are all up to par.
