Monster Lair out for Wii Virtual Console

Monster Lair is the only game on our beloved system that was legally bestowed a 'Wonderboy' title (in Japan), and one of the first CD games for the system. The other 'Wonderboy games' (Dragon's Curse, Dyanstic Hero) were converted licenses. At any rate, Monster Lair plays like a cross between Air Zonk and New Adventure Island, and that's a good thing. Part shooter, part platformer. The Soundtrack is great, and graphics are nice and colorful. Check out the full review out for a comparison with the Sega Genesis version.

"The game can either be a one or simultaneous two player game. It is a forced side scroller which means the game moves forward whether you like it or not. This adds to the challenge which, for the first few levels, make you laugh in a cocky manner. The challenge does increase and will test your gaming skills for hours. Monster Lair works on a "vitality" system much like any Adventure Island game..."

3 NEW BOMBERMAN games from HUDSON SOFT !!!!

It has been an EXCITING time in the NEC/Hudson universe these past 7 years. Games for the Dreamcast, re-makes of PC Engine classics for the PS2, and now the Wii, as well as other next gen systems. I remember when the TG-16 lifespan was cut short to to lack of support here in the states, and feeling down, but knowing the day would ultimately come, but then feeling hope and refreshment when i knew that NEC/Hudson was making games for next gen systems that i already owned. It is simply beautiful that the old bee is flitting around the new generation of gamers, and attracting them to to his roots back on the PC Engine. WHAT a lifespan!!!!! Thank you NEC/HUDSON, for SO many years of inventive entertainment! Keep on truckin' BABY!
