Wii News (North America): Break In and Star Parodier Available on Virtual Console
Star Parodier is another one of the best shooters of all time. This time, Hudson is parodying it's own Star Soldier franchise. Play as Paro-Caesar (Star Soldier ship), Bomberman, or a flying PC Engine that shoots HuCards and CDs. Gameplay is spot on as usual (thanks again Hudson!) in this top-down cute-em-up. Great graphics, colourful landscapes, and fantastic CD background music abound. As I said earlier when released for the EU Virtual Console, download this puppy or you will regret it. I promise.

AVERT YOUR EYES KIDS!!!! Cho Aniki Coming to PSP!!!
From Kotaku
According to reports from the latest Famitsu, the Cho Aniki series will be revived on the PSP in early 2009 with Zero Cho Aniki. Known for its ripped abs, bulging biceps and bethonged stars Adon and Samson, the Cho Aniki games take bizarre to 11, with zombie Elvis ships, fish with ripped arms and sexy giant snowmen. The two bodybuilders have enjoyed many side-scrolling shooting outings together, but Zero Cho Aniki appears to be a remake of one of the PC Engine — Turbografx-16 over here — CD-based titles.
PSP Hyper writes that it's a remake of the very first Cho Aniki, which would make sense given the "zero" in the title, in which the musclemen took a backseat to the more clothed Idaten and Benten. Expect this UMD full of beefcake to stay Japan only.

Ys Book I & II Delayed for Wii Virtual Console
From VC-Reviews.com
If you've been keeping up with the news and saw our recent articles, you would've known that Capcom, Hudson Soft and SNK Playmore all "confirmed" that one of their games would be released on VC today in the US. These games would have been Mega Man, Ys Book I & II, and Samurai Shodown II, all classics and very well liked among retro gamers. Sadly, it appears that Nintendo of America is having none of that (Just like two weeks ago with Star Parodier and Break In) and has chosen to release completely different games instead.
No indication yet as to when Ys will be finally out, but hopefully very soon. Stay tuned!

Wii News (North America): Chase HQ Virtual Console
Chase HQ, one of my all time favourite arcade classics, is available for download on the North America Wii Virtual Console. It's up to you, an undercover cop in a super-powered ghost car, to track down the criminal element in their equally powerful sports cars and ram them into submission. Just like real police! Okay, maybe not, but it is tons of fun! Just be sure you are nice to Nancy the dispatcher. But what's up with the huge delays, Nintendo? It's been almost half a year since North American saw their last TG16 Virtual Console game. Perhaps sales aren't going as great as they'd hope, but come on, get the led out already! Thankfully Ys Book I and II will be out next week.

Ys Book I & II for North American Wii Virtual Console - August 4

That's right ladies and gentlemen, Ys Book I & II will be available for download on the Wii Virtual Console in North America as of August 4th. This is the title most of us have been waiting for ever since we heard news of CD-ROM games being available.

I've been playing this game for 20 years now, and that definitely won't stop me from downloading it and playing it again on the Virtual Console. Truly one of the all time greatest games, of any genre.
