Review:
Blazing Lazers, it turns out, is the Americanized version of "Gunhed", which is a very cool robot manga franchise. The game rocks. The graphics, though not the bomb, are quite good, and the game play is as good as you get in a vertically scrolling, top-down space shooter. The powerups are varied and interesting, the bosses, though not too charismatic, are cool. As this was one of the first games we had for our TurboGrafX, it got a lot of gameplay. It seemed quite hard at first, probably because I suck at video games. But there is a plethora of cheats available, and I eventually learned that the secret to beating the last level without cheating is to use Full-Fire Field Thunder. In fact, each section of the later levels has one or two weapons that are by far the best. At any rate, you can see that I got quite into this game despite the misspelling of 'LASER'.
