Bonk's Adventure
Review: Graphics
- 8/10 Although
simple, the graphics of this game are still impressive, even
today. Bonk is big, and the enemies are always easy to see. The
colorful backgrounds really are a treat to look at. The only reason
this didn't
score higher is because the sequels show how much the graphics have
been
improved, but nevertheless, they are clean and you'll never lose health
to an
enemy that you can't see. Audio
- 9/10 Not
too many problems here. The music is great, and conveys the
cheeriness that the graphics portray really well. The sound effects are
also
really well done. The music is also really catchy, as well. The only
reason
I'm deducting a point is that there aren't enough music tracks, and as
a
result they keep getting recycled throughout the game. Otherwise, this
is
really solid stuff. Gameplay
- 10/10 Of
course, this is the only thing that really matters in a game, and
luckily Bonk's Adventure nails this spot on. The game is a joy to play.
Instead
of just jumping on enemies, Bonk has the option to slam his head into
them, jumping up and letting his head come down to crush them, or just
head-butting the from beneath. You can spin through the air, scale
walls with your teeth, or explore huge areas. The bosses are also a
blast to fight.
If
you own a TurboGrafx, this is definitely a game you need to play. |
