Power Golf
Review: Nicely done. I won't say that they
are extremely well done. They suit the purpose of an
uncomplicated golf game rather well. Instead of the focus
of the game being the traditional behind-the-player view, you are
presented with a top-down view of your current hole (somehow that just
sounds dirty), with a little window showing your player and shot energy
bar as you swing. You don't have to wait each time you proceed
down the fairway for the trees and backgrounds to render, which is nice
- unlike some of those "other" golf games of which we will not mention. Playability: Fun/10 Overall we have a solid game I'm proud to say kept me interested and wanting to improve my skills. It's also a lot easier and cheaper, I've discovered, to plug this bad boy in and play a few rounds than it is to wait for decent weather, load the clubs and what-not into the car, then drive to the course, wait for a tee time, then wait some more as an overweight family of four takes their time hunting for their "special" blue ball in the trees before you can finally tee off. Let me play through, you jackasses!
